Liquid cooling energy storage systems (ESS) are a type of energy storage system that uses liquid as a coolant to manage the temperature of the battery cells which improves the performance and lifespan of the battery cells

One of the main advantages of liquid cooling ESS is their ability to provide more consistent and stable performance compared to air-cooled systems. This is because liquid cooling can maintain a more uniform temperature across all battery cells, reducing the risk of hot spots and thermal runaway. Additionally, liquid cooling can help extend the lifespan of battery cells by reducing the rate of degradation caused by high temperatures.

Another advantage of liquid cooling ESS is its ability to operate in a wider range of temperatures. This makes them suitable for use in extreme environments, such as deserts or arctic regions, where air-cooled systems may struggle to maintain optimal performance.

EnBrilion Integrated Liquid Cooling EES, is a plug-and-play ESS solution which can be cascaded to up to 10 units in a parallel configuration, to achieve up to 2.3/7.45 MWh storage capacity. Designed for 0,5 or 1C operation, fully stand-alone design with battery, PCS, BMS/EMS, Fire suppression and detection system, and liquid cooling system. Encapsulated in a very strong steel cabinet (possible to lift on/off by crane) with a small footprint and high IP classification (IP55) for outdoor installation.

The concept’s modularity allows for a high degree of redundancy when building larger ESS installations. For example, if failure is detected in one of the cascaded cabinets and that cabinet needs to be shut off, all other units will maintain operation, minimizing operational and financial losses.
